The Health Foundation was officially opened in February by Premier of the Western Cape, Helen Zille. “Health can be a bottomless pit, unless we can create a partnership with others to address the burden of disease,” said Zille.
Coz it Counts, the official PR partner to The Health Foundation, assisted with the event which saw businessmen, politicians and journalists descend upon Stellenbosch for the official launch.
At the chic offices in the Woodmill Office Park, guests were treated to canapés while Health Minister Theuns Botha, addressed them on the significance of the organisation.
“This is a vision which started the day we took government in the province,” said Botha.
The Health Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organisation, which exists with the purpose to increase access to, and quality of, public health in the Western Cape.
Dr Josh Fisher, CEO of the Health Foundation, made a call to business and enterprise to join with the organisation on this venture. “We believe The Health Foundation has the potential to unlock resources from the private sector and academia through a wide spectrum of fruitful, mutually beneficial partnerships.”
A golden plaque was unveiled by the Premier outside the offices of the foundation, with many members of the press present. Along with a strong media presence, media packs were prepared and a subsequent press release distributed to journalists, generating significant media coverage for the Foundation.
